Long time no post…

Well it has been a while between posts for me, have had a faily busy couple of months, with not a great deal to blog about to be perfectly honest. However that has changed ever so slightly, we went to visit Kamakura last weekend a smallish town about an hour out of Tokyo by train (not Shinkansen).

To start with let me say I had a great day there. Basically we took the train from Tokyo station and had a quite relaxing ride down to Kamakura which was actually extremely cheap only around 12 $ or so.

Upon arriving on a beatiful crisp late winter morning, we spent some time looking around some of the smaller temples before heading back to the main shopping street which was a real treat. Loads of stores selling all kinds of interesting wares and food. It was all very Interesting. We then wandered up to the main Shinto temple near the centre of Kamakura for a look. This was spectacular, and seemed to have a never ending flow of people getting married (a la the traditional Japanese style wedding) on the grounds that day, there were also LOADS of people, but it didn’t feel too crowded.

Would liked to have gone back soon when the Sakura are in full bloom it would be spectacular. Be sure to check the link at the bottom for the full set of photos.
